Annual Golf Outing FlyerOn Monday September 24th, the Queens Chamber Foundation will be holding its annual Golf Outing and Dinner.  It will be hosted at the Garden City Country Club. This daylong opportunity to connect with Queens Business people is definitely something you don’t want to miss. This year, the Queens Chamber will be honoring the Honorable US Congressional Representative Joe Crowley.

The event will be filled with fun, food, and professional networking. The breakfast commences at 9am-10:30am. Registration for golf lasts until 12:30 followed by the shotgun start/golf outing until 5 pm. After golf is the cocktail hour, dinner, awards, raffles and silent auction, concluding at 8 pm. If you are unable to golf, you can attend the dinner portion of the evening.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce will honor four exemplary people in the business world. These honorees display strong business skills, street smarts and book smarts. The first businessperson will be hall of fame honoree, John Catsimatidis. John is the Owner, President, Chairman and CEO of Red Apple Group. Additionally, the Queens Chamber also will be honoring Christopher Horch, an Associate Partner at JB&B, Sister Tesa Fitzgerald; Founder & Executive Director at Hour Children, and Nick Tziazas, President at Lyons Mortgage Services, Inc.

Make Lifelong Friends! Learn Valuable Skills! Create Lasting Memories! Registration for fall classes is now open for the Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dance.

The Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dance ensures that all students receive the best possible Irish dance education. Classes are forming at all four locations: Whitestone, Middle Village, Woodside, and Astoria. They range from Beginner level to Champion level. All classes are tiered and differentiated to best fit the needs of each, individual child. Their class structure affords dancers more one-on-one attention with their teacher and all classes are held in a professional studio setting. Although the school has a strict focus on competition, they also cater to non-competitive dancers who enjoy learning the basics and traditions of Irish dance.

 

The Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dancing is a premier Irish dance academy in Queens, NY. It was founded by champion dancer Kelly Fitzpatrick, TCRG (a certified teacher under the esteemed Irish Dancing governing body, An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, in Dublin, Ireland), in the Spring of 2010. As they enter their eighth year, the Fitzpatrick Academy has produced incredibly dedicated and talented dancers who are not only eligible to compete at a National and International basis, but have already ranked highly at these levels.

 

The Fitzpatrick Academy is the recipient of the 2018 Irish Echo Community Champion Award. Additionally, dancers have had the wonderful opportunity of participating in a variety of parades and performances; some prestigious highlights include the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade Installation Dinner, the Queen’s Chamber of Commerce St. Patrick’s Luncheon, several TV appearances and Irish Heritage Night at Citi Field.

VISIONS announces ticket prices for their Annual Dinner, “Party with a Purpose.”

On Tuesday, September 25th, 2018, VISIONS will host their annual dinner for the Queens Advisory Board, called, “Party with a Purpose.” This dinner, held at Douglaston Manor from 7-10 pm, will feature a variety of different activities filled with loads of fun, laughs, and lasting memories!

Ticket prices for the event are 100 dollars for an individual ticket. If you are under 30 years of age, ticket prices are 65 dollars. If you are visually impaired, ticket prices are 65 dollars..

In addition to the ticket prices, VISIONS would also like to announce the opportunity for attendees to purchase tables at the event. Attendees could buy anywhere from a Friend Table all the up to a Benefactor Table. Also, attendees can print journal ads to advertise goods and services for many attendees to see. Lastly, attendees could also be sponsored, or even sponsor something else, from Journal sponsors to Presenting sponsors. There are many opportunities for attendees get involved with this great event!

Congratulations to the Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dance on their Performance at a New York Mets Game

Fitzpatrick Academy GirlsCongratulations to the Fitzpatrick Academy of Dance. On Friday, August 3rd, the young Irish-Step dancers performed their hearts out at Irish Heritage Night, hosted at Citifield. Citifield, the home baseball stadium of the New York Mets, hosts an annual Irish Night every year to honor traditional Irish Heritage.They have consistently been invited to perform for the past five years. The performance keeps the audience mesmerized with the true talent of each dancer shining through. This year was no different as each dancer possesses an immense passion for Irish step dance. The performance was the starting event of the night, ultimately followed by a Mets Baseball Game. The Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dance have also performed at a wide variety of other prestigious engagements, including the Manhattan St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Queen’s Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.

The Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dancing was founded by Kelly Fitzpatrick, TCRG (certified teacher under Irish Dancing governing body, An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, in Dublin, Ireland), in the Spring of 2010.  After coming from a long line of Irish dancing relatives (including 1994 World Champion, Kerry Hutchinson), Kelly began dancing at the age of 3 and has trained under some of the best Irish Dancing teachers in the United States. As a two-time regional champion, she was not only fortunate enough to travel around the world to compete, but has maintained high rankings on a national and international level throughout her dancing career. She went on to win medals in both solo and ceili dancing at the highest level of competition, the All Ireland and World Championships.
