The New Rochelle Human Society Hosts Annual Dinner For Paws For A Heart

Aug 6, 2014, New Rochelle, NY — The New Rochelle Humane Society’s annual dinner and auction, Paws for a Heart Gala, will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 6:30pm – 10:30pm. Paws for a Heart is the premier fundraising event for the New Rochelle Humane Society. This year’s highly anticipated gala will be held at Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, New York.

More than 250 prominent business and community leaders from around the county attend thisevent, along with some of their furry friends.  Dollars raised at the Gala directly support the work the shelter is doing to ensure that the animals in their care are treated with kindness and dignity until they can find their forever homes.  The support of attendees, sponsors and donations will help the shelter continue to expand their programs, purchase specialized equipment and enhance the facilities as well as find loving homes for the animals in their care.

Proceeds from this year’s gala celebration will be directed to the Help Heal Fund. When an animal is severely ill or injured, the Help Heal Fund provides the means for expensive surgery and medicine, giving dogs and cats a second chance at life and finding a loving and permanent home. Carlette Allen has just retired as President of the New Rochelle Humane Society where she served for 16 years.  During her tenure, the New Rochelle Humane Society saw remarkable growth, both in the number of communities they are serving, the number of successful adoptions and the dollars raised.

David J. McCabe has been a longtime friend and generous supporter of the New Rochelle Humane Society.  He has been an advocate of the New Rochelle Humane Society in discussions with the city of New Rochelle and served on the Board of Directors for three years.

Operation Prom Teams Up With Local Businesses To Fund A Prom

Prom Hero Campaign Will Give Teens In Need A Chance To Go To Prom

June. 5, 2014 – Yonkers, New York – Operation PROM a national non-profit organization has been making dreams come true since 2005 by providing dresses, tuxedos and more to students who otherwise could not afford them. Their help has allowed these deserving students to be a part of the high school rite of passage: Prom.  For the 2nd year, Operation PROM has committed to make an entire school’s dreams come true by raising money to fund their Prom.

Operation PROM recently launched their Prom Hero campaign (www.Crowdrise.com/PromHero)to raise the necessary funds to sponsor The Greenburgh Graham’s Prom.  The Greenburgh Graham School District is designed to support students with varying ability levels who struggle academically and/or emotionally. Greenburgh-Graham, located in Hastings-On-Hudson, is an accredited day and residential NYS public school district for students aged 5 to 21 years. Students with behavioral, emotional and learning disabilities are offered ongoing assessment and data-driven targeted intervention in a supportive environment.

“Most of these teens don’t have family to support them.  They would never have been able to go to Prom if we did not step in,” says Operation PROM Founder Noel D’Allacco, “So many local businesses have been willing to help make this a dream come true!” says D’Allacco.

The Greenburgh Graham’s Prom will take place on Thursday, June 5th, from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Royal Regency Hotel (http://www.royalregencyhotelny.com) in Yonkers in its beautiful, newly renovated Crystal Ballroom.

Many Westchester-based businesses are donating their services to help support this amazing effort.  Students will walk the red carpet and have photos taken by Paul Cunningham, owner of the Image Maker (http://www.theimagemakerphoto.com).  They will dance the night away with music and entertainment by Don’t Stop The Music, Inc. (http://dontstop.com), decor and favors by Bobby’s Balloons, Dive In Sweets, and Cinderella on Broadway.  Floral arrangements, corsages and boutonnieres have also been generously donated by Mrs. Blooms Mobile (http://www.mrsbloomsmobile.com).
