About Young Professional Leadership

The prom-themed event was established by a group of young professionals who brainstormed ways to fundraise for the CFF. One member of the committee, diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), mentioned that she never had the opportunity to attend her high school prom, due to illness. Since then, the YPLC has been throwing its annual prom the focus of raising money to find a cure.

About Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

CF is a life-threatening, inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the US (70,000 worldwide). An additional 10 million more—or about one in every 31 Americans—are carriers of the defective CF gene, but do not have the disease. The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is the late 30s. The steady rise of the median predicted age of survival suggests that improvements in treatment and care are advancing the lives of those with CF.

All young professionals in New York City, and the surrounding region, are encouraged to attend the CFF’s “A Prom to Remember.” These individuals, and all of The CFF’s supporters, are the driving force in pursuit of a cure for CF.

About Liquid Water

LiquidWater.com is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to bringing Clean Water to the world’s poorest. They exist to inspire & resource like-minded organizations to “get dirty” and help tackle the global water crisis together. In the last 2 years, Liquid Water has brought safe, clean drinking water to over 10,000 people across rural Africa. And they are just getting started.

Most villages in developing nations like Ethiopia have a plentiful supply of freshwater just below the ground in natural aquifers, but no way to get at it. Here’s where Liquid Water — and you– come in. Drilling a well costs an average of $5,000– a pittance to us, but a life-changing gift to those who receive one. The average Clean Water Well provides safe, clean drinking water to a village of 400 for 20 years.

100% of all public donations go straight into the ground– to bring the most basic element on earth to the world’s poorest.
