Erica Jewell, author of the blog A Girl Travels and a service member in the U.S. Coast Guard currently lives in New York City and writes about her travel adventures and her involvement in her communities that she resides in and visits. Her goal is to inspire others to live like her, seeing the world one city, one island, and one country at a time. Being that this is her last year in New York; she is celebrating the success of her travel blog in the city which birthed it. Erica’s event was put together as a way for her to give back to both her local and travel communities before the big move. Bridget O’Brien PR and Events is helping to promote this event.

About The Passport Party Project:

The Passport Party Project is a grassroots initiative founded by Tracey Friley to provide online global awareness training and first passports to underserved American girls between the ages of 11-15 in an effort to help create responsive and responsible global citizens. Phase 1 of The Passport Party Project(tm) wrapped up last summer and was able to successfully gift 100 underserved girls with their very first passports during a nationwide traveling campaign that began September 2011 and wrapped up on July 30, 2013 and six young travelers made their debut international journey to Belize and received their very first passport stamps.

Beating Cancer in Heels is a nonprofit dedicated to the empowerment of young women with cancer founded by Brooklyn native Marlena Ortiz is a young woman who is making her voice heard as a champion of women who face breast cancer and all its ramifications. Actor Edvin Ortega is Making Major Waves In Hollywood One Role at a Time

Edvin Ortega since coming to the US from his native Cuba, Edvin Ortega has made a name for himself as an Actor, Singer and DJ/Host and Entrepreneur.

Ortega will be on the next episode of Blue Bloods called ‘Exiles’ that will air next week May 9, on CBS at 10/9c. He just finished wrapping up filming for the lead role in a new film coming out in the fall called “The Jersey Devil”. Ortega will also be in season 2 of Orange Is The New Black which is back on Netflix on June 6th. As well the premiere of his show “Larger Than Life” The ultimate boyband show @ Adventureland in Long Island, the first show will be on memorial day 5/26.

About Edvin Ortega

Ortega was born in Havana, Cuba, where he spent his early childhood years before his family moved to Panama City, Panama. A few years later, his family packed up again and headed for America, settling in Yonkers, NY, where he would spend his formative years and eventually graduate from Westchester Community College and Mercy College. An accomplished host, d.j., singer and dancer, Ortega regularly hosts live events for Radio Disney and is know is those circles as “MC Vin”.

The highlights of his big screen career have included appearing alongside John Travolta on the movie the Taking of Pelham 123. Most recently you catch him on the hit TV show, The Following along side Kevin Bacon and the Netflix acclaimed series Orange is The New Black. Although he has done a wide range of work, he prefers roles where the characters get to fight back. He also adds “My characters are sincere, open and warm with a touch of sarcasm”. Here he draws his own personal comparison to Mark Wahlberg and Jay Hernandez.
