15-year-old Jazmin Brown is the next generation of fashion design. New York Institute of Beauty is Hosting a Great Gatsby Beauty Competition and Gala to Benefit Autism Awareness

Friday, October 25, 2013 New York Institute of Beauty will be presenting a Gatsby theme Beauty Gala Event at Chateau La Mer to raise awareness for autism.

Aug. 14, 2013 – Lindenhurst, N.Y – Each year New York Institute of Beauty, and Long Island Beauty School have created a contest in cosmetics, hair, and nail technician to supports and raise money on behalf of Team Jack-Autism. One must be a current New York Institute of Beauty or Long Island Beauty school student to qualify to compete. This year, the New York Institute of Beauty Make Up Team will be organizing a Beauty Gala Event for Team Jack-Autism charity at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst, New York. The theme of the event will be Gatsby and since it is the weekend before Halloween, New York Institute of Beauty encourages guests to come in their best Gatsby attire.

About Young Professional Leadership

The prom-themed event was established by a group of young professionals who brainstormed ways to fundraise for the CFF. One member of the committee, diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), mentioned that she never had the opportunity to attend her high school prom, due to illness. Since then, the YPLC has been throwing its annual prom the focus of raising money to find a cure.

About Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

CF is a life-threatening, inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the US (70,000 worldwide). An additional 10 million more—or about one in every 31 Americans—are carriers of the defective CF gene, but do not have the disease. The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is the late 30s. The steady rise of the median predicted age of survival suggests that improvements in treatment and care are advancing the lives of those with CF.
All young professionals in New York City, and the surrounding region, are encouraged to attend the CFF’s “A Prom to Remember.” These individuals, and all of The CFF’s supporters, are the driving force in pursuit of a cure for CF.

Aug. 22, 2013 – NEW YORK — The evening started with a red carpet and was attended by Long Islands’ Own Teen Sensation Nick Tangorra and his band mates Rafe Tangorra and Will Aherns. The Star of the Style Network’s Big Rich Texas Kalyn Braun was in attendance and cheered on the children in the show.
